Enable / Disable Pop-up Ad Blocker
Adblock Pro pop up blocker is not enabled default because there is many software, toolbar , addons and even IE6 SP2 will try to block pop up ads. But if you have not ,you can enable Adblock Pro pop up ads blocker. There is tens of type of pop-ups, Adblock Pro can block most of them while left some kinds which rarely happen and some most are not ads. The Adblock Pro 1.5 will block all of them, it's easy but we need to know from our user to see if it's necessary when IE7 and google toolbar can do most of things well.

There is two place to enable Adblock Pro pop up blocker

Enable / Disable Fly-in Ad Blocker

To block all flash, you can simple right click the Adblock Pro status bar icon , select "Enable Flash Block", enable "On all domain", or you can disable it by disable "On all domain".

Now Adblock Pro will block all flash except website in whitelist and under https://. We do not suggest this unless you have added all your favorite flash movie website and flash game site into whitelist , such as youtube.com.

When enabling flash blocker, Adblock Pro will add a rule to "Block ActiveX". You can enable or disable all types of ActiveX element manually in there.

    Enable / Disable ActiveX Blocker
ActiveX blocker is useful when you want to block certain ActiveX on a specific domain but not all. For example, to block music auto-play on some online shop on ebay.com, you can block mediaplay ActiveX by add 6BF52A52-394A-11d3-B153-00C04F79FAA6 to ActiveX rules.

    Use Filter Rules Subscription
Filter subscriptions let you download filters from some location on the web or on your disk automatically every day. These filters are stored in a separate group and don’t interfere with the filters you define yourself. This way you can use filter lists other people create and maintain while still having your own additions to those. You can also disable all filters from the subscription without removing it if you have the suspicion that the filters are causing problems.
Currently there are 4 filter rules packege. "Adp-default" is subscript by default after installation for newbie, which can block advertisement for English site.

You can also subscript French/German/Swedish filter rules,

Double click the green icon will Enable/Disable the subsription rules to block advertisement. For example, German user can disable "Adp-default" but subscript and enable "Adp-German".

    Adding rules for different element
Adblock Pro can make url block rules, html element block rules, ActiveX blocker rules and Whitelist.

    Whitelist
When a url or domain name have beed added in Whitelist, the advertisement will not blocked any more on pages that consistent with the rules. For example, Adblock Pro will not block advertisement on download.com because of below:

    Block Address
This will block any ads element with a url. For example , you can block google adsense by adding rules "/show_ads" to match the ads url http://pagead2.googlesyndication.com/pagead/show_ads.js . Or you can block myspace.com from kids browing in IE by adding rule "myspace.com" to match any pages under myspace.com.

    Block Element
This can block any html element with no url needed. Most of time, we recommend Block Element but not Block Address, Because Block Element can make the advertisement seemed never have been existed.

    Block ActiveX
This can block any specific ActiveX element with its CLSID. For example:
    Block Flash : d27cdb6e-ae6d-11cf-96b8-444553540000
    Block Media Player : 6bf52a52-394a-11d3-b153-00c04f79faa6
